About Cycle Training Manchester

We are a family company based in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Our founder grew up in the 1970's building bikes from old bits of discarded cycles. Puch and Raleigh cycles were his main bikes through the 70's and 80's. In 1982 having bought his first bike with pocket money and money saved from odd jobs he set off with his brother to Pickmere for a days ride from Oldham. Arriving at 10am at the lake they decided to carry on to Chester. Chester was reached before lunch. So being 16 and 14 years old and frankly a bit daft they decided to carry onto Conwy a total ride there of 100 miles from home!

Upon arriving at Conwy it was suddenly realised that at 2pm they hadnt got any lights for the 6 hour ride back to Oldham and so a lift was arranged from Chester. Total rideout 150 miles! And so the seed was sown, from there on in long rides became the norm. From here it was regular rides to Bangor University from Oldham for one brother, or to and from diving meets off Anglesey and cycling holidays around north wales with tents and sleeping bags strapped to the bikes for both brothers. Rides in scotland quickly came along and later as well as Audaxing which one of the brothers still does to this day.

We regularly teach Bikeability both privately and in schools around the Oldham, Manchester and Cheshire areas as well as regularly arranging rideouts for beginners and advanced riders.

All our instructors are fully qualified National standards instructors holding full NSIQ status for teaching Bikeability. Everyone here has a passion for riding and have a delivery style that is second to none.

Our founder has experience delivering with various providers across the country and is the webmaster for this site. He arranges the free fun rides around manchester and Lancashire and free routes contained on this website.
